Family Fields
2021 Over 10,000 years ago, the whole of Ostergotland was under ice. When the ice age came to an end, the Linkoping area was like a sparse inner archipelago with small islands jutting out of the water. As the land mass increased, an archipelago with cobs, islands and skerries was formed, but there were also a lot of small lakes. The first people to follow the melting pot were subsisting on hunting and fishing. They paddled canoes or some kind of log boats between the mainland and the rising islands. Today, there is only one flat landscape left which is called "Ostgotaslatten". It was in thisplace that my family and I grew up. Nowadays, all family members have created their own small clusters of families spread out across the county. There, each of them found their own place to settle out on the flat fields.
